Breaking news from WordCamp SF

I’m following along the live-blogging and tweeting, and in Matt’s state of the word address, he announced that WordPress.org and WPMU will be merging.

When? No idea, but apparently he also stated “watch out for version 3.0″.

basically, it should be easier for those of us with MU sites. At least that’s what I’m expecting. With it rolled into core, we’ll be better updated with more eyeballs working on it.

I am really looking forward to WP 3 and this merger.

I’m not sure why there have been 2 version of WP for so long… it has to slow down development and just be general pain in the rear.
